Balancing Vocational Training and Family with TEP

Part-time vocational training can make starting a career possible

Life is colourful and sometimes takes unexpected turns. Perhaps you deliberately chose to have a child and put your training on hold. Or an unplanned pregnancy changed the order of things. The possibility that a family member suddenly becomes seriously ill or requires care and urgently needs your help right now can also throw your life plans into disarray.

This is where the TEP programme – Teilzeitberufsausbildung – Einstieg begleiten – Perspektiven öffnen (Part-time Vocational Training – Guiding Entry – Opening Perspectives) offers people with family responsibilities the chance to successfully combine training and family life. Parents or caring relatives are supported by educational institutions for up to 12 months – initially with career selection, the application process, and finding a suitable company. Later, when a training contract is concluded, during the first months of training.
